The government added that seven buildings collapsed, and that access to the city was difficult as the roads and bridges had been immersed. Further, 27 were killed in cities other than Derna.
Egypt
offered its condolences to the bereaved families of the victims, wishing the
injured a speedy recovery. In a press release Monday, the Foreign Ministry
expressed Monday its solidarity with Libya following the deadly storm that
recently hit the country and caused flooding and torrential rains.
