Humanitarian
aid to Gaza Strip kept flowing into Egypt’s Arish International Airport as new
batches arrived from Jordan, Tunisia, Turkey, UAE, Venezuela, UNICEF, and WHO,
in addition to the arrival of the biggest jet carrying aid, since the outbreak
of the crisis, from Poland.
The European Union announced it had started a humanitarian aid bridge by operating the first flight on October 16, while the second arrived on October 19. Both flights carried a total of 56 tonnes of humanitarian cargo provided by UNICEF including medicines, shelter and hygiene kits. The aid items are being delivered to the Egyptian Red Crescent for distribution on the ground.
Furthermore,
the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations announced Thursday that Russia had
dispatched 27 tons of humanitarian assistance to the besieged residents of
Gaza.
A
total of 150 lorries loaded with medical aid and food items, blankets, clothes
and shrouds are currently awaiting entry to Gaza Strip at Egypt's Rafah
Crossing.
The
Palestinian Health Ministry announced that a total of 3,785 had been killed and
that 12,495 had been injured in Gaza since the beginning of the Israeli
aggression on the strip earlier this month.
