The
agreement of the Albanian government with the Italian one for housing
immigrants coming from the Middle East has brought the reaction of activists in
Lezhë.
The protest of a group of activists was also accompanied by tensions between them and the police, as the latter call something like this illegal.
Activists
tried to set up a "camp" tent in front of the town hall, but such an
action was stopped by the blue uniforms.
We remind
you that the agreement signed by Prime Minister Edi Rama and his counterpart
Giorgia Meloni will house over 3,000 Middle Eastern immigrants who are
currently in Italy. Their accommodation is supposed to be in the camps that
will be set up in Gjadër and Shengjin.
This
agreement, signed between the two prime ministers, will be for a period of 5
years with the right to renew the agreement for another 5 years.
