President Volodymyr Zelensky on December 1 announced on social media networks
that he spoke by phone with Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov yesterday.
They discussed Ukraine's defence capability needs and Kiev bid for EU
accession.
Zelensky has invited Bulgaria to send a representative to the next round of Peace Formula talks early next year.
In the
Zaporizhzhya region, Volodymyr Zelensky met with military officials and
discussed with them the construction of fortifications along the main defence
lines.
"While in Zaporizhzhya, I spoke with Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov and thanked him for his powerful speech in the European Parliament as well as his government’s principled stance on supporting Ukraine. Defense assistance. I informed the Prime Minister about Ukraine’s current defense needs, particularly regarding the strengthening of our air force and artillery. Ukraine’s EU accession. I stressed the importance of unity in supporting Ukraine's European integration, as well as €50 billion in multi-year assistance. I also invited Bulgaria to send its representative to the next round of Peace Formula talks, which is scheduled for early next year," Zelensky said.
Zelensky
has also spoken on the phone with the German chancellor and the British Prime
Minister, with whom they have also discussed military action and Ukraine's
integration into the European Union.
