Serbian
President Aleksandar Vucic said on Sunday night that the result of the
elections is that the election ticket headed by his Serbian Progressive Party
(SNS) list will have an absolute majority in parliament.
“This is an absolute victory which makes me very happy,” he said.
According
to Vucic, the SNS election ticket will have at least 67 seats in the 120 seat
Vojvodina provincial Assembly. He said the Serbia Against Violence coalition
will have at least 28, the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians 9, Socialist Party
of Serbia (SPS) 7 and NADA coalition 6. He said the projections are based on 2
million votes counted.
He said the
SNS won 74.2 percent of the votes cast by Kosovo Serbs.
The
president said that the SNS won 46.2 percent of the vote for the national
parliament followed by Serbia Against Violence 23.5 percent, the SPS 6.5 and
NADA 4.9 percent. “The SNS will have more than 127 seats in parliament,” he
said.
The SNS
election ticket won 38.5 percent of the vote for the Belgrade City Assembly
followed by Serbia Against Violence with 35 percent, NADA 6 percent and the SPS
5.4 percent. We don’t know who will be in power in Belgrade because that
depends of post-election coalition, he said.
Vucic was
flanked by Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik and Montenegrin New Serb
Democracy party leader Andrija Mandic.
