Starting
January 1, Greece replaced the fee for staying in tourist facilities with a new
fee, for resistance to the climate crisis, in the amount of 50 cents to ten
euros per day, depending on the type of accommodation and the time period of
the year.
According to the ministerial decision published in the Official Gazette of Greece, the fee will be paid by the guests at the end of their stay and applies to daily use per room or apartment, and will also apply to AirBnB accommodation.
During the
tourist season, i.e. in the period from March to October, the fee is 1.50 euros
for hotels with one and two stars, for rooms for rent and for accommodation
through AirBnB. For three-star hotels the fee will be three euros, for
four-star hotels it increases to seven euros, and for five-star hotels and
villas will amount up to ten euros.
In the
period between November and February, the amount of the fee will lower,
starting from half a euro for hotels with one and two stars, for rooms for rent
and for accommodation through Airbnb, 1.50 for hotels with three stars, three
euros for those with four stars and reaches up to four euros for five-star
hotels and villas.
