A delegation from the Ministry of Justice of the Government of National Unity will soon travel to Beirut to meet with Lebanese counterparts and the committee overseeing the case of Hannibal Gaddafi,
fourth son of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, detained in Lebanon in precautionary custody since his arrest in December 2015.
This was
reported by the Lebanese newspaper The Daily Star, citing Lebanese sources.
According the newspaper, the parties will discuss the activation of a 2014
memorandum of understanding regarding the disappearance of the Shiite cleric
Musa al Sadr, which occurred in 1978, for which Hannibal Gaddafi is
accused.
The
non-governmental organization Human Rights Watch declared in recent
days that the Lebanese authorities “should immediately release” Gaddafi,
detained “on false charges”.
