Protocols
on free access to the labor markets of North Macedonia, Serbia, and Albania
were signed Monday in Skopje by representatives of the three countries.
According to a government press release, Minister of Information Society and Administration, Azir Aliu, together with his counterparts from Serbia and Albania, signed the Protocol on Interconnection of Schemes for Electronic Identification of the Citizens of the Western Balkans.
While, the head of the
Employment Agency, Vedat Osmani, alongside his counterparts from Serbia and
Albania, signed the first Protocol on the Implementation of Conditions for Free
Access to the Labor Market in the Western Balkans.
The
protocols conclude the necessary legal steps for the commencement of the
measure, leaving only the final technical testing and harmonization within the
e-service systems of the three countries to be implemented. Citizens are
expected to receive free access to the labor markets of the three countries in
March 2024.
The
signing of the two protocols implies a mutual legal commitment to enable free
access to the labor market.
