Yesterday, in an interview with the well-known Italian newspaper La Repubblica, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sharply expressed his opinion on the foreign policy of his country. According to him, Armenia's dependence on Russia in the sphere of security has become a "strategic mistake".
This status quo has long been of concern within the country, and Pashinyan's decisive words only confirm the relevance of this issue.
Such statements by the Armenian leader undoubtedly attracted the attention
of world powers and international organizations. Thus, Gunther Fehlinger,
President of the NATO European Development Committee, publicly called on
Armenia to join the North Atlantic Alliance.
"I call on Armenia to join NATO. Protect Armenia, President Biden",
his statement read.
This position of NATO can become a key moment in rethinking the foreign
policy of Armenia. Cooperation with the North Atlantic Alliance can become a
serious threat to Russia in this region.
