Central Election Commission (CEC) spokesperson, Rositsa Mateva, gave a
second regular briefing on election day, October 29.
As at 16.00, the voter turnout in the country based on information from all Municipal Election Commissions in the country is 34.16%. The highest turnout was in the municipality of Chelopech - 75.15%, and the lowest was in Dobrich - 23.18%.
"It has already become known that in several municipalities there are
ballot papers without numbering. These are in Kyustendil, Dupnitsa, Dobrich,
Radomir and Pernik. We have given instructions to the election commissions.
They will draw up protocols in the event of ballot papers with misssing
numbers. Voters who voted with such ballots papers should not worry. Their vote
will be counted," Rositsa Mateva said.
CEC reported a problem with a shortage of ballot papers in several
municipalities.
"Several town halls ran out of ballot papers. In Mezdra, before that
in Varbeshnitsa town hall, we have given instructions there to make photocopy
of the ballot papers and to draw up protocols by members of the elections
commissions, numbering the ballot papers with consecutive numbers. Similarly in
Parvomay, in the municipality of Poroyna, in the municipality of Lom in Dolna
Beshovitsa and in Shumen - in the municipality of Losevo. Information was
received from Mezdra and from Oselna and Uchindol town halls. There are ballot
papers there, but they warn they are running out of them soon. A smaller number
has been requested for printing and after applications were submitted by voters
who are entitled to vote at their current address the request has not been
updated with the relevant number of ballot papers,” Mateva said.
