Egypt plans
to enhance economic and trade cooperation with Bulgaria in the coming period,
said Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir on Sunday 22/10/2023.
The two countries are witnessing promising collaboration across diverse sectors, Samir highlighted during his meeting with Deyan Katratchev, the Bulgarian ambassador to Egypt, according to a Cabinet statement.
Samir
expected that the upcoming visit of the Bulgarian Minister of Economy to Egypt
next December will include a delegation of companies to discuss bilateral
investment opportunities.
During this
visit, it is expected to hold the Egyptian-Bulgarian Business Council and
an Egyptian-Bulgarian business forum, he noted.
Samir added
that in November, Egypt will host the third edition of the African Inter-Trade
Exhibition, which is expected to include the participation of 75 countries and
1,600 exhibitors representing a distinguished opportunity for Bulgarian
investors.
Samir said
that investment in the Egyptian market offers various advantages, such as the
availability of qualified labour and the country's preferential trade
agreements with numerous countries and economic blocs.
For his
part, Katratchev stressed his country’s keenness to develop economic and
investment relations with Egypt, one of the most pivotal countries in the
Middle East and Africa region.
“Egypt
could benefit from the Bulgarian market as a gateway for its products to the
European continent, while Bulgarian exports could enter African countries
through the Egyptian market,” Katratchev stated.
