Commander of Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, also known as Hemedti, arrived in Tripoli today where he met the prime minister of the Government of National Unity (GUN) of Libya, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, with whom he had “fruitful and constructive” discussions on developments in Sudan, according to a statement by Dagalo via X.
“I explained to Dbeibeh the reasons that led to the outbreak of the war and presented him with our strategy to stop the war, achieve peace and stability, alleviate the suffering of our people and rebuild Sudan on new and just foundations,” said Dagalo.
“I also
provided him with an explanation of the developments in the humanitarian
situation and the difficult conditions faced by the Sudanese due to the
deprivation of humanitarian aid, which has led to famine in some areas, which
requires intervention to provide aid to those who they need it through new
mechanisms and methods,” he added.
Dagalo’s
visit comes after he had a telephone conversation with Dabaiba last week, who
invited him to visit Libya. The visit follows that carried out earlier this
week, again in Tripoli, by the President of the Sudanese Sovereign Council,
Abdel Fattah Al Burhan.
